I hoped that with this series, I would find a way to appreciate the incredible South Asian women of our generation, who are breaking boundaries and paving new paths for themselves. Moreover, I would like you to take a little bit of your time to realize how incredible the women around you are.

Especially if you are a woman! I know that at least one woman’s story in my #BelleBoss series will inspire you to follow your dreams, your vision and most importantly your heart. Even if that means breaking a few rules and many societal prejudices along the way.
Could you please give me an introduction to yourself?
1. My name is Gabrielle Amritt and I’m 20 years old. I’m a model and full-time student majoring in Biology. I was born and raised in Miami, FL. My childhood was extremely fun and I’m grateful that my parents put me in new things to try like soccer and dance. I stuck with dance(ballet, contemporary, and belly dance) for many years.

Who inspires you?
My inspiration definitely would be the both of my parents. They didn’t grow up with much but that didn’t stop them from building and growing with each other. And all while working hard, they both still gave my brother and me everything they possibly could. They inspire me to always do the best I can and to always work hard.
How did you start modelling and what do you enjoy about it?
Photo @belferphotography
I started modelling during my senior year of high school it was after taking my senior pictures I realized how much I loved photo shoots. I started working with local photographers and I really wanted to be a model and I always thought it’d be impossible because I’m not the standard 5’9 model.

That made me want to work harder to become a model and inspire others who may feel like their dreams are impossible.

I enjoy the creative process of modelling and seeing it come to life in the final product. Also, I try to reach people through any work I do one of my main goals is to inspire others.

Have your cultures shaped you as a person?
My cultures definitely shaped me into a very hardworking and appreciative person. While growing up and even now, my parents always pushed me to do well no matter what I’m doing and to always be thankful.
I feel like my work ethic is extremely strong because of them and that’s something I’m extremely grateful for.
Also, I know my cultures have moulded me into a very appreciative person and my parents never forced my cultures on me. I think they raised me perfectly in the fact that I always wanted to learn more about our cultures.

What do you feel has been your proudest achievement either in your uni life or professionally?
Honestly, I don’t have just one proudest achievement. I mean that in a very graceful way, I’m proud to be majoring in biology while growing and thriving in this industry. And I’m definitely proud to be doing this interview and hope to inspire many others through my career and lifetime

What do you love about living in Miami?
My favourite thing about living in Miami is definitely having the beach nearby. The beach is one of my favourite places to relax and clear my mind. I also love the diversity in Miami, it’s a melting pot and I think it’s great to be surrounded by people of different cultures
Why did you decide to study biology?
Science was the only subject in grade school that interest me and that I love. I couldn’t wait to major in a science in college so I chose biology because it’s the one that really stuck with me and made me want to know more
What inspired you to start a youtube channel?
What inspired me was just the sole fact that I could create content in a different way and have people get to know me. I think it’s a really amazing way for people who follow you to get to know a bit about you. I’m still new to it and figuring out how I want my channel to be content wise but I’m so excited to put out videos.
What would be your advice/ tips for anyone considering a modelling career?
My advice for anyone considering modelling is to never give up no matter how hard it gets.

Don’t listen to anyone who might try to drag you down and if you ever come across that type of negativity let that be even more of a reason to work harder.

No one can tell you what you can and can’t do and if you really want it, you will succeed especially by showcasing your hard work and love through your work.
The industry is always changing and I feel that now there is an opportunity for anyone who truly is passionate about modelling.
What has been the best career advice given to you?
The best career advice given to me has been to always trust the process and to continue to always work on your craft. At first, I would have my doubts but then I was told by someone they could truly see my passion and how much I want it, so they told me to always trust the process and continue to work hard and I will achieve anything that I truly want.
What are your goals post-uni?
My goals post-uni are still unclear and always changing, I’m excited to graduate and be able to have my degree. I’m also excited to work hard in this industry but I know when the time comes I will end up where I’m truly supposed to be.

At the end of the day, my true goal will always be to be happy.
